Terms of Service
These are the rules you agree to when you use All Squared. Read them once — they are written to be readable, but they are also a contract.
Effective May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a contract between you and All Squared (“we,” “us”) that governs your use of the All Squared product, website, and any associated APIs (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is built for university students and similar adult learners. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you can form a binding contract with us.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the email address on your account and for everything that happens through it. Use a personal email — university accounts can be cut off when you graduate.
- Keep your sign-in flow safe. Don’t share verification codes or session tokens with anyone, and don’t let anyone else sign in as you.
- Tell us at support@allsquared.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account per human. Don’t create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.
4. The Service
All Squared helps you organize sources, parse syllabi, track your course schedule, generate formatted citations, and chat with an AI scoped to your readings. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. Some features depend on third-party providers (described in our Privacy Policy); availability of those providers is outside our control.
5. Your content
Everything you upload, paste, type, or import into All Squared — your citations, courses, syllabi, PDFs, chat messages, profile fields, discussion-post drafts, schedule progress, and anything you sync from Canvas (including your assignments, submissions, and grades) — is your “Content”. You keep ownership of your Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, display, and process your Content solely to provide the Service to you and to the people you explicitly share it with — for example, classmates in the same Canvas course whose discoverability you opt into (who can see your display name and email), friends you accept on All Squared, or a friend you invite to read a specific draft.
We do not sell your Content. We do not use your Content to train any AI model. When you delete Content from the product, our active systems delete it; residual copies may exist in routine backups for a limited time before being overwritten.
6. AI features and output
Several features use a large language model (currently Anthropic’s Claude, hosted on AWS Bedrock) to generate text or extract structured data from documents you provide. You should understand the following before relying on AI output:
- AI output can be wrong. Models can hallucinate citations, mis-attribute quotes, invent page numbers, or mis-parse what a syllabus says. Always verify against the original source before submitting work that depends on AI-generated content.
- AI output is not professional advice. It is not legal, medical, financial, or accredited academic advice. It is a starting point for your own work.
- Content you submit to AI features(chat messages, uploaded PDFs, pasted syllabus text, course metadata, and profile fields) is sent to AWS Bedrock for processing. Per AWS’s Bedrock terms, that content is not used to train the underlying foundation models.
- You are responsible for the legal status of what you upload. Do not upload documents you don’t have a right to read or share with a processor.
- Same input can produce different output across sessions. We don’t guarantee reproducibility of AI responses.
7. Academic integrity
Your school has rules about when AI assistance is allowed and how it should be disclosed. Those rules apply to your use of All Squared. We make AI features available, but it is your responsibility to use them in a way that complies with your instructor’s policy, your course syllabus, and your institution’s academic-integrity code. When in doubt, ask your instructor first.
8. Canvas integration
Canvas is a learning-management system operated by Instructure, Inc. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instructure. If you choose to connect Canvas, you do so by entering your own Canvas-issued API access token. By doing so:
- You confirm that your school’s acceptable-use policy allows you to authorize a third-party application to read and write to your course data on your behalf.
- You authorize us to use the token to read your course list, assignments, discussions, modules, pages, files, quizzes, submissions, and grades on your behalf, as needed to power features you have opted into.
- You authorize us to post to Canvas under your account when, and only when, you press “Post” on a discussion-post draft you wrote inside All Squared. The text we send is the text you see in the draft editor at the moment you submit it. You are responsible for the contents of every post made through your account, including any post created via this flow. We do not perform any other writes (no grade changes, no assignment submissions, no profile edits, no enrollment changes).
- You can disconnect Canvas at any time from your settings. We will remove the encrypted token from our database. Data that we already synced and that is part of your courses will remain until you delete it.
9. Classmates, friends, and drafts
Some features let other All Squared users see limited information about you, but only after you opt in:
- Classmate discovery is per-course and off by default. When you turn it on for a course, other users connected to the same Canvas course can see your display name and email on the classmates list. They cannot see your citations, schedule, chats, drafts, or any other coursework. You can turn the opt-in off at any time and discoverability stops immediately.
- Friend requests and invite links let you connect with other users on All Squared. Accepting a friend request, or accepting an invite link someone sent you, makes you visible to that person on the friends list and lets them ask you to review a draft.
- Draft reviewsshare the draft body of a single discussion-post draft with one accepted friend, plus that friend’s one comment back. We don’t share other drafts, citations, or coursework as part of a review handoff. Don’t paste anything into a draft you’re not willing to share with the friend you ask to review it.
- You are responsible for the people you invite, accept, or ask to review your work.
10. Acceptable use
You may not, and you may not help anyone else:
- Use the Service to break the law, violate intellectual-property rights, defraud anyone, or harm a person or system.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, dox, or stalk anyone — including classmates surfaced by the opt-in classmate feature.
- Upload malware, exploit vulnerabilities, probe the Service for weaknesses without prior written permission, or attempt to bypass rate limits or quotas.
- Use the Service to generate content that violates the acceptable-use policy of any AI provider whose model we rely on (including Anthropic and AWS Bedrock), or that we believe in good faith is designed to deceive an instructor or institution about who wrote something.
- Scrape, mass-export, or reverse-engineer the Service, except to the minimum extent permitted by law.
- Resell access to your account, or share an account across multiple people to evade tier limits.
11. Plans, billing, and refunds
- Free tier. We currently offer a free tier with monthly token limits for AI features. Limits can change; if they do, the change applies to billing periods that start after the change.
- Paid tier. Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe on the cadence shown at checkout (typically monthly). Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. The monthly token allowance attached to your subscription is locked in at the moment you subscribe and refreshes at each successful renewal — if we change the allowance on the product later, the new value reaches you at your next renewal, not mid-cycle.
- Top-ups. We may offer one-time purchases of bonus AI tokens. Top-up tokens are credited to a separate balance on your account and are consumed only after your monthly subscription allowance is exhausted. Top-ups are one-time, non-recurring, and non-refundable once the tokens have been credited, except where required by law. Top-up tokens do not expire as long as your account is active, but we make no guarantee that any specific top-up product will continue to be offered.
- Taxes. Prices shown at checkout may exclude applicable sales tax or VAT, which Stripe will add where required.
- Cancellation. You may cancel any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of unused subscription days or unused top-up tokens.
- Refunds. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law (for example, where required by your local consumer protection statute) or where we choose, in our sole discretion, to issue a refund for a service outage or billing error.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may suspend AI features and downgrade you to the free tier until payment is resolved.
12. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features, set new usage limits, or change prices. We will give reasonable advance notice of price changes that affect your active subscription — by email or in-product — before they take effect on your next billing period.
13. Our intellectual property
The All Squared product, including the source code, the user interface, the branding, the “All Squared” name, and all documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms do not give you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or source code beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.
14. Feedback
If you send us suggestions, bug reports, or product ideas, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use them without restriction. We will not identify you by name in connection with the feedback without your permission.
15. Copyright complaints
If you believe Content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to support@allsquared.app with: a description of the work; the location of the allegedly infringing Content; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512 and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
16. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your account creates a security, legal, or financial risk for us, or if we discontinue the Service. We will give you reasonable notice when we can. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; data is handled per the retention windows in our Privacy Policy.
17. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FIT FOR YOUR PURPOSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
18. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SQUARED AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR ACADEMIC STANDING, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
19. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or demand (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including a violation of your institution’s academic-integrity policy.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a California consumer, nothing in these Terms waives any unwaivable right you have under California law, including under the Consumer Legal Remedies Act and the Consumers Legal Remedies Act notices and rights provided at California Civil Code § 1789.3.
21. Disputes
Except for claims you choose to bring in small-claims court, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. You and we consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Any claim must be filed within one (1) year after it arose, or it is permanently barred, except to the extent a longer period is required by applicable law.
22. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
